In-flight connectivity is today an essential operational component for business, corporate, charter and commercial operations. CARION coordinates IFC, SATCOM internet and hybrid solutions with certified aeronautical providers — including LEO networks (low latency, high speed), GEO and hybrid systems — selecting the right technology per mission profile, operational region and cabin expectations.
We also coordinate pre-flight data plan validation — because the most common problem is not the hardware, but the contracted plan not being active or not covering the route. CARION acts as operational coordinator; not as a network provider.
How CARION coordinates connectivity
We review platform, installed equipment, operational region and mission profile — including oceanic and transatlantic routes. From there we define viable IFC/SATCOM options: LEO for low latency and high speed, GEO for broad coverage, or hybrid systems for mixed missions.
We coordinate with certified aeronautical providers across the major LEO, GEO and hybrid networks: activations, service requests, upgrades, active data plan validation and usage conditions per operator briefing. We verify the plan is active and covers the route before departure.
We integrate connectivity into the flight flow: plan, boarding, turnarounds and cabin requirements. The goal is to depart with the planned configuration and stable in-flight performance, within the system's capabilities and the contracted plan. On VIP operations, we coordinate with Concierge to align digital experience expectations.

LEO, GEO or hybrid? The right technology for each mission
Choosing the wrong technology is the most common mistake in IFC. CARION coordinates the right selection based on route, operation type and cabin expectations.
Low latency and high speed. Ideal for VPN, video calls, streaming and demanding digital experiences. Growing global coverage including oceanic and transatlantic routes.
Broad and stable coverage. Higher latency than LEO — not recommended for real-time video calls. Reliable for messaging, email and operational updates on long-haul routes.
Combines LEO and GEO to optimise coverage and performance per region. Ideal for long missions with oceanic and continental legs. Honeywell GoDirect and other multilink systems.

Operational considerations

Coverage varies by region, polar zones and oceanic areas. We coordinate the right technology per route, including transatlantic and transpacific flights.
Availability subject to equipment installed on the aircraft and applicable STC certifications. Not every aircraft can activate every service.
Performance may be affected by network congestion, atmospheric conditions or system limitations during climb/descent. The contracted plan defines bandwidth and priority.
Slot changes or reprogramming may require revalidation of activation. CARION manages these adjustments in real time to minimise disruptions.
